BuyKarlo Trading Guidelines

Read safety parameters, transaction policies, and terms of service that protect Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students during campus trades.

BUYKARLO SELLER GUIDELINES

Effective Date: 1 June 2026

1. PURPOSE

These Seller Guidelines establish the standards expected from users who create listings, advertise products, or otherwise offer goods through the BuyKarlo Platform.

The objective of these Guidelines is to promote trust, transparency, safety, and a positive experience for all users.

These Guidelines should be read together with the BuyKarlo Terms of Use, Community Guidelines, Prohibited Products Policy, and other Platform policies.

2. SELL ONLY PRODUCTS YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SELL

Sellers must only list products that:

  • They legally own;
  • They are authorized to sell;
  • Comply with applicable laws;
  • Comply with BuyKarlo policies.

Sellers must not list:

  • Stolen products;
  • Counterfeit products;
  • Unauthorized copies;
  • Products subject to legal restrictions;
  • Products prohibited by Platform policies.

BuyKarlo may request additional information regarding ownership where appropriate.

3. PROVIDE ACCURATE INFORMATION

Listings must accurately represent the product being offered.

Sellers should ensure that:

  • Product titles are accurate;
  • Descriptions are truthful;
  • Pricing information is correct;
  • Product condition is clearly disclosed;
  • Material defects are disclosed.

Knowingly misleading buyers is strictly prohibited.

4. USE AUTHENTIC PHOTOGRAPHS

Whenever reasonably possible, sellers should use photographs of the actual product being offered.

Photographs should:

  • Clearly show the product;
  • Accurately reflect product condition;
  • Avoid misleading edits or alterations;
  • Display visible defects where relevant.

Use of stock photographs should be limited and must not misrepresent the actual product being sold.

5. DISCLOSE PRODUCT CONDITION

BuyKarlo primarily supports transactions involving pre-owned and used products.

Sellers should clearly disclose:

  • Scratches;
  • Damage;
  • Missing accessories;
  • Functional issues;
  • Repair history;
  • Warranty status;
  • Any significant limitations affecting use.

Transparency helps build trust within the community.

6. PRICE RESPONSIBLY

Sellers should publish realistic and honest pricing information.

Sellers must not:

  • Use intentionally deceptive pricing;
  • Create fake listings to test market demand;
  • Manipulate pricing to mislead users;
  • Use listings solely for advertising unrelated products or services.

7. COMMUNICATE PROFESSIONALLY

Sellers are expected to interact respectfully with buyers.

Sellers should:

  • Respond honestly to questions;
  • Communicate respectfully;
  • Avoid harassment or intimidation;
  • Respect buyer concerns;
  • Avoid deceptive sales tactics.

Professional communication contributes to a healthier marketplace.

8. HONOUR AGREEMENTS

Where sellers voluntarily agree to transaction terms with buyers, sellers are encouraged to act in good faith and honor commitments made through Platform communications.

Repeated reports of deceptive or unreliable conduct may result in enforcement action.

9. STUDENT VERIFICATION

Where student verification features are available, sellers must not:

  • Submit forged documents;
  • Misrepresent educational affiliation;
  • Attempt to obtain verification through fraudulent means.

Verification abuse may result in immediate account suspension.

10. USE OF AI-ASSISTED LISTING TOOLS

BuyKarlo may provide AI-assisted tools to help generate:

  • Product titles;
  • Product descriptions;
  • Listing summaries;
  • Product details.

Sellers remain solely responsible for all information published through their listings.

AI-generated content should be reviewed before publication.

Sellers must not rely on AI-generated information that is inaccurate, misleading, or unsupported.

11. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

Sellers must not:

  • Engage in fraud;
  • Misrepresent products;
  • Conceal significant defects;
  • List prohibited products;
  • Use stolen images;
  • Circumvent Platform restrictions;
  • Create multiple deceptive accounts;
  • Manipulate search visibility;
  • Abuse reporting systems.

Violations may result in listing removal, account suspension, or permanent account termination.

12. REPORTING CONCERNS

Users may report listings that appear:

  • Fraudulent;
  • Counterfeit;
  • Misleading;
  • Unsafe;
  • Unlawful; or
  • In violation of Platform policies.

BuyKarlo reserves the right to review reported listings and take appropriate action.

13. PLATFORM ENFORCEMENT

BuyKarlo may take enforcement action where sellers:

  • Repeatedly receive substantiated complaints;
  • Violate Platform policies;
  • Create safety concerns;
  • Engage in deceptive conduct;
  • Damage trust within the community.

Enforcement actions may include:

  • Listing removal;
  • Reduced visibility;
  • Warning notices;
  • Temporary suspension;
  • Permanent account termination.

14. BUILDING TRUST

BuyKarlo aims to create a trusted environment where users can confidently buy and sell products.

Sellers are encouraged to:

  • Maintain accurate listings;
  • Communicate openly;
  • Act honestly;
  • Respect other users;
  • Conduct transactions responsibly.

Trust is one of the most valuable assets in any marketplace and is built through consistent, transparent conduct.
